Dr. Tanya Zakhmi
Assistant Professor
Dr. Tanya is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, School of Behavioural Sciences. She holds a PhD in Neuropsychology from the Department of Neurosurgery, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. Her doctoral research focused on the development of an evidence-based neuropsychological rehabilitation program for patients with traumatic brain injury.
She completed her B.A. (Honours) and Master’s degree in Psychology from Panjab University and is a recipient of the University Grants Commission Junior Research Fellowship. She has actively presented her research at numerous national and international conferences. Her research interests include neuropsychology, social psychology, and counselling psychology. Her clinical experience at the Neuropsychology OPD, PGIMER, includes comprehensive assessment and rehabilitation of patients with neurological conditions, which has helped inform and enrich her teaching by integrating clinical practice with theoretical training.
