Dr. Mohit Sharma graduated from an esteemed dental school, Bapuji Dental College and Hospital, Davangere, Karnataka, in 2004 and completed his Master’s Degree (M.D.S.) in Oral Pathology & Microbiology in 2010 from the prestigious Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Udupi, Karnataka. He is pursuing a Ph.D. from Pacific Academy of Higher Education and Research (PAHER) University, Udaipur. He has more than 11 years of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience and is currently a professor at SGT Dental College Hospital & Research Institute, Gurgaon. He is also now running a private practice in Faridabad. He has served as an examiner in U.G. and P.G. exams. Several times, he also corrected B.D.S. papers at the university level at Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. He has a research interest in deciphering the pathogenesis of potentially malignant oral disorders, primarily oral submucous fibrosis. His areas of Special Interest include Stem Cell Markers and Epigenetics. He was invited as a speaker on “Priorities in smokeless tobacco control research and training needs” in the Symposium on smokeless tobacco at “XXVII NATIONAL IAOMP CONFERENCE.” He has attended several International and National Conferences. He has authored 37 publications in international and national journals of high repute with a good citation score and high impact factor. He currently has 365 citations, an Hindex of 10, and an i10 index of 13 on Google Scholar. He has been a reviewer in several international and national journals like British Dental Journal Open, B.M.C. Oral Health, Journal of Oral Pathology & Medicine, Cancer Reports, Bioengineered, Ethiopian Journal of Health Sciences, Biomedical Research and Therapy, and Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research. Currently on the editorial board of “frontiers in pain research.” He has been a Member of the Indian Dental Association, a Life Member of the Indian Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologists since 2009, and a Life Member of the Indian Association of Dental Research since 2014.
