The Faculty of Design successfully hosted a two-day draping workshop on May 15 and 16, 2024, led by the esteemed Senior Draping Designer Ritu Singh.

The workshop aimed to equip students with both foundational and advanced draping techniques, covering styles such as bodice, skirt, sleeve, asymmetric, bias, and sculptural draping.

On the first day, Ms. Singh introduced the essentials of draping and demonstrated basic techniques, giving students valuable hands-on experience. On the second day, the focus shifted to more intricate methods, with Ms. Singh emphasising the importance of precision and creativity in advanced draping styles.

The comprehensive curriculum, interactive sessions, and expert guidance enhanced students' skills and deepened their understanding of draping in fashion design, boosting both their creativity and confidence. The success of the workshop highlights the faculty’s commitment to continuous learning and innovation, with plans to offer similar events in the future to support the evolving needs of aspiring fashion designers.
