On August 7, 2024, the Design Department hosted a vibrant celebration for Handloom Day, highlighting the cultural significance and artistry of traditional weaving techniques. The event featured an interactive paper weaving workshop, where both faculty and students from the Master’s and Bachelor’s programs participated enthusiastically.


Using coloured paper, scissors, glue, and weaving tools, participants crafted intricate designs and patterns, mirroring the complexity and beauty of handloom textiles. This creative exercise not only gave attendees hands-on experience with weaving techniques but also served as a heartfelt tribute to the skilled artisans who continue to sustain and innovate India’s handloom tradition.
