Debate Competition on “One Nation, One Election”

The Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts, in association with Mannthan: The MUN and Debate Club, organized a university-level Debate Competition on the topic “One Nation, One Election” in Asian Parliamentary format on April 16, 2025.
There were 10 teams representing various faculties across diverse academic disciplines from the university. The event experienced an overwhelming response from the students. Student participants emerged with a strong grasp of the benefits and challenges of “One Nation, One Election”, enriching their appreciation of India’s federal structure and democratic processes.
The debate on “One Nation, One Election” fostered robust dialogue, sharpened students’ analytical prowess, and strengthened institutional partnerships between FHSL and Mannthan. Coordinators’ meticulous planning ensured seamless execution. Judges’ feedback underscored excellence in research and rhetoric. This landmark competition set a vibrant precedent for future parliamentary debates within the university community.
