Prof. (Dr.) Shammi Nagpal

Dr. Shammi Nagpal is an accomplished academician, administrator, and communication professional with over three decades of distinguished experience in higher education. She holds a Ph.D. in English Literature and has served as Professor of English, making significant contributions to teaching, research, curriculum development, academic leadership, and institutional quality enhancement. As the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences & Liberal Arts at SGT University, she is committed to fostering academic excellence, interdisciplinary learning, research innovation, and holistic student development in alignment with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. She actively promotes critical thinking, ethical leadership, creativity, and global perspectives among students. Dr. Nagpal has held several important academic and administrative positions throughout her career and has played a key role in faculty development, accreditation processes, student engagement, and institutional governance. She has presented and published research in her areas of specialization and has been actively associated with academic, literary, and cultural initiatives. In addition to her academic achievements, she served as a News Reader with Doordarshan for over sixteen years, an experience that strengthened her expertise in public communication, leadership, and professional engagement.
