Dr. Abdullah Nouman
Assistant Professor
Dr. Abdullah Nouman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Humanities,
School of Humanities, Social
Sciences and Liberal Arts. A former UGC Senior Research Fellow, he earned his Ph.D. in
English from Aligarh Muslim
University with a thesis titled “Artful Dissent and Political Theatricality: Remapping the
Indian Experience through
Select Plays.” He also holds a PGCTE from the English and Foreign Languages University,
Hyderabad, along with BA (Hons.)
and MA degrees in English Literature from AMU.
His research has been published in reputed journals including Indian Theatre Journal
(Intellect, UK), and he has
presented papers at leading national and international conferences. He has also undertaken
advanced academic training
through various workshops and faculty development programs.
Dr. Nouman’s teaching and research interests include Indian Drama, Theatre and Performance
Studies, Marginalised
Literature, Digital Humanities, and World Literature. His teaching philosophy emphasizes
literature as performance,
creating a dynamic and immersive experience that encourages students to engage with texts as
living, creative, and
critical explorations.
