Dr. Girija Suri
Assistant Professor
Dr. Girija Suri is an Assistant Professor of English at SGT University, Gurugram. She holds a B.A. (Hons.) in English from Lady Shri Ram College for Women and an M.A. in English from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, and earned her Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her doctoral research on the radio dramas of Saadat Hasan Manto reflects her interests in Indian Writing in English, Translation Studies, Partition Literature, and Popular Culture. With over six years of teaching experience at Hansraj College (University of Delhi), Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, Lovely Professional University, and Amity University, Gurugram, she has taught and mentored undergraduate and postgraduate students and supervised doctoral research. Her teaching areas include Postcolonial Literature, Literary Theory, Indian Writing in English Translation, Restoration and Augustan Prose and Poetry, and Soft Skills. Dr. Suri has published widely on Partition narratives, diaspora, Indian literature, and digital popular culture, and has presented at major international and UGC-sponsored conferences, including at Loyola University Chicago, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Guru Nanak Dev University, BITS Pilani (Hyderabad), and Dibrugarh University. She serves as a reviewer for Cogent Arts & Humanities, a Scopus-indexed journal published by Routledge. A recipient of the POSCO Asia Fellowship for Academic Excellence (2010), she edited Representations of Contemporary India in Digital Popular Culture (Authorspress, 2023), which has received critical acclaim, and is frequently invited as a resource person by universities and educational institutions.
