Dr. Nandini Basistha

Dr. Nandini Basistha [MA (Double), M.Phil., D.Phil., Post Doc] is working as Associate Professor, Department of Liberal Studies and Social Sciences, Faculty of Behavioural & Social Sciences, SGT University, Gurugram, Haryana. Previously, she was Executive Director, Interdisciplinary Institute of Human Security and Governance, New Delhi, India; Senior Assistant Professor at Amity Institute of Liberal Arts, Amity University, Mumbai; ICSSR Post-Doctoral Fellow at Centre for North East Study & Policy Research, Jamia Milia Islamia; Assistant Professor of South Asian Studies, Kurukshetra University; Senior Fellow at Institute of Foreign Policy Studies, Calcutta University; UGC-SRF and UGC-JRF at Rajiv Gandhi Chair in Contemporary Studies, University of Allahabad; & Organiser at DRCSC, Kolkata.

She authored 2 books, viz. Narendra Modi & Northeast: Conflict Management through Development-Security Nexus (Delhi: Interdisciplinary Institute of Human Security and Governance, 2023) & Politics of Separatism (New Delhi: Vaibhav Publications, 2018) and edited 10 books on Gender Security-related topics. She published 35 research articles in Sage, Routledge and SCOPUS-Indexed and UGC-Care listed journals and books from reputed publishers.

She was Keynote Speaker, Guest of Honour, Resource Person and presented papers at 80+ conferences in India, United Kingdom (2), Australia, USA, Switzerland, Singapore, Ukraine, and Philippines. She also regularly writes MOOC and other university E Contents, Book Review, Commentaries & Newspaper articles.

She received “Best Paper Award” at 3rd Annual IIHSG International Conference 2023 and “Exceptional Women of Excellence” Award from Women Economic Forum, New Delhi, India in 2022. She is Reviewer of SCOPUS-Indexed Routledge journal, Cogent Arts & Humanities (ISSN: 2331-1983) & Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Bio Sciences and Technology (non-profit peer-reviewed open access International Journal) and Philosophy, Economics and Law Review (International scientific journal, published by Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and Dnipropetrovsk State University, Ukraine). She is Guest Editor of UGC Care – listed Journal, Third Concept: An International Journal of Ideas (ISSN 0970-7247).

She is 2nd rank holder in MA in South and Southeast Asian Studies from Calcutta University. After completing MPhil, she did PhD in Political Science from Allahabad Central University and Post Doctorate from Jamia Milia Islamia as ICSSR Post Doctorate Fellow. Except that, she participated in Winter School on “Forced Migration” (UNHCR, Govt. of Finland & MCRG); Summer School on “Analyzing Quantitative Data on Indian Politics” (Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, New Delhi); Winter School on “Life and Thought of Gandhi” (Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla).

She has expertise in Northeast Indian Politics, Peace and Conflict Studies, Refugee Studies, Women Studies, Human Development, Human Security, South Asian Studies, Identity Politics, & International Relations.
