Cultivated Farm
The Cultivated Farm at the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management (FHTM), SGT University, serves as a unique learning platform where students connect directly with nature and sustainable practices. Spread across a dedicated area within the campus, the farm is maintained and nurtured by students under the guidance of faculty experts.
The farm is used to:
- Grow Fresh Produce – Seasonal vegetables, herbs, and fruits cultivated organically for use in training kitchens and practical sessions.
- Promote Sustainability – Hands-on learning about organic farming methods, composting, and eco-friendly agricultural techniques.
- Farm-to-Table Concept – Understanding the direct relationship between cultivation and culinary applications, encouraging students to value local and fresh ingredients.
- Skill Development – Exposure to agricultural practices, crop cycles, soil management, irrigation, and pest control.
- Research & Innovation – A space for experimenting with sustainable farming techniques and promoting awareness about food security.
