Prof. (Dr.) Shiv Raman is a distinguished legal academic, researcher, and mentor with more than 16 years of extensive teaching and research experience in the field of law. He has been contributing since 2015 in the areas of Cyber Laws, Criminal Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Constitutional Law, and Digital Forensics. He earned his Ph.D. in Cyber Laws from Maharshi Dayanand University with a research focus on “Cyber Crimes in India: New Issues and Challenges.” He is also UGC-NET and JRF qualified, reflecting his strong academic foundation and research aptitude.
Dr. Raman has an impressive publication record, including numerous research papers in reputed national and international journals, research articles, and book chapters on contemporary legal issues such as cyber victimization, digital evidence, OTT regulation, competition law, AI and law, data privacy, and human rights in the digital era. He is the author of books on Cyber Crimes and Information Technology as well as Law Relating to Confession in India. His scholarly contributions demonstrate a deep engagement with emerging intersections of technology and law.
In addition to his academic publications, he holds a granted design patent for an AI-based Crime Scene Investigation Device, showcasing his interdisciplinary interest in law and forensic innovation. He has actively participated in and presented papers at numerous national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and faculty development programs, particularly on themes related to artificial intelligence, cyber security, digital governance, and criminal justice reforms.
Dr. Raman has also played significant academic leadership roles in research and academic committees, and contributed to curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate law and forensic science programs. As a dedicated research supervisor, he has guided several Ph.D. scholars to successful completion and is currently mentoring multiple research candidates.
