SGT University Features Twice in the India Today Best Colleges Rankings 2026

Updated on: July 03, 2026

Introduces Six Exciting Courses

Recognition from an independent, nationwide survey is worth pausing over, because it is judged on the same terms as every other institution in the country. This year, SGT University appears twice in the India Today Ranking 2026, across two very different fields of study. Two of our schools have earned a place on the national lists:

  • The School of Basic and Applied Sciences ranks 11th in the Emerging Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Colleges category.
  • SGT Dental College, Hospital & Research Institute ranks 37th among the Top Dental Colleges in India.

The India Today Ranking 2026 weighs factual, verifiable data alongside a perception study of academics, recruiters and peers to analyse the universities nationwide.

A rising name in the sciences

The 11th position in the Emerging B.Sc. colleges list says something specific about the direction of travel. India Today's "Emerging" category is where newer and fast-growing science programmes are measured against one another, separate from long-established institutions. Placing 11th in that group means the School of Basic and Applied Sciences is being recognised not for where it started but for how quickly it is building its laboratories, its teaching faculty, and the research culture that undergraduate students actually experience.

For a student choosing a B.Sc. today, this momentum matters more than it might first appear. The word 'emerging' points to programmes that are still investing in new technology, still expanding their facilities and networks and still adding faculty and modern teaching methodology, rather than coasting on an older reputation.

Dental sciences on the national map

A 37th-place ranking among the Top Dental Colleges in India places SGT Dental College, Hospital & Research Institute within a competitive national field that includes some of the country's oldest and most established dental institutions. As a Dental Council of India–recognised college attached to a full teaching hospital, it provides students with the one thing dental education cannot be delivered without: sustained, hands-on clinical exposure to real patients throughout the course.

For BDS and MDS aspirants weighing colleges in the Delhi-NCR region, an independent national ranking is a useful, external signal to set alongside their own campus visits and conversations with current students.

Why a national ranking is worth noting

It is easy for any institution to describe itself in glowing terms. It is harder to be placed, by an outside body, against every comparable college in the country and still land on the list. That is what makes these two results meaningful; they are not our claims about ourselves but external assessments of where two of our schools stand nationally in 2026.

They also reflect the wider direction of SGT University: a NAAC A+ accredited institution in Gurugram, Delhi NCR, working across a broad range of disciplines and increasingly earning independent recognition in more than one of them.

For prospective students

If you are considering the sciences or dentistry for the 2026 admissions cycle, these rankings are one input among several worth looking at alongside curriculum, clinical or laboratory infrastructure, faculty, and placement or internship outcomes. We would encourage you to visit the campus, speak with the departments directly, and see how each programme fits what you want from your degree.
