The students of the School of Emergent Media, Communication & Film Studies (SMCF), the SGT University recently visited the Museo Camera – Centre for the Photographic Arts for an enriching Experience Learning, Networking & Industrial Visit. It was a wonderful experience for our students to get a glimpse into the world of photography, visual storytelling and camera evolution. Most important, it facilitated them to link concepts from the classroom to the creative practices and industry viewpoints. One of the most special moments of the visit was an informative meeting with the Founder & Director of Museo Camera, Mr. Aditya Arya. Opportunity was given to our students to conduct an interview with him, and to learn from his life journey, experiences and thoughts about photography, visual culture and the creative industry. Our students were inspired to observe, question, connect and create during their visit, which included looking at photographic archives, historic cameras as well as interacting with a leading industry expert. Experiential learning is not only about visiting a place, it's about converting all experiences into knowledge. A valuable learning experience for our students and another step to enhance the industry-academic linkage.
