Overview

The Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Emergency Medicine is a three-year postgraduate programme designed to train medical graduates in the assessment, diagnosis, stabilisation, and management of critically ill and injured patients. The programme equips students with the knowledge and clinical expertise required to handle medical, surgical, paediatric, obstetric, and trauma emergencies in fast-paced healthcare settings.
At SGT University, students receive hands-on training in a multidisciplinary teaching hospital with exposure to diverse emergency cases. Under the guidance of experienced faculty members, residents develop competencies in emergency procedures, critical care, trauma management, resuscitation, disaster preparedness, and evidence-based clinical decision-making. The programme emphasises rapid response, teamwork, patient safety, and ethical medical practice, preparing graduates to deliver high-quality emergency care across healthcare institutions.
