3 Days Hands-on Workshop on IMNCI
Day 1 of IMNCI 3 Days Hands-on Workshop at SGT University’s Faculty of
Nursing for B.Sc. Nursing 6th semester students
and M.Sc. Nursing 1st year students organized by the Department of Community Health
Nursing, in collaboration with the
Department of Child Health Nursing.
The day commenced with a formal inaugural of workshop, setting a positive and purposeful
tone for the program.
Following the inauguration, the workshop focused on essential skills in young infant
care through expert sessions by Dr.
Tarun Kr Ravi, Sr. Consultant & HOD, Pediatrics & Neonatology, and Dr. Sahil Goyal,
National IMNCI Trainer & Assistant
Professor, Community Medicine. The sessions comprehensively covered the assessment,
classification, and treatment of
sick infants as per IMNCI guidelines.
The students were divided into groups for interactive, hands-on training sessions with
the experts. B.Sc. and M.Sc.
Nursing students actively participated, which significantly enhanced their clinical
competence, confidence, and
readiness to effectively manage pediatric and neonatal cases.
