Unlocking Nature’s Pharmacy: The Interesting World of Medicinal Plants and Modern Medicine
Pharmacy has entered a new age as a combination of traditional knowledge and modern science. This has made the study of medicinal plants a dynamic, evidence-based field. People have long believed that medicinal plants could help with health problems. Now, a new advancement is being used to look into these plants in a way to identify a drug for new preparations. High-throughput screening, metabolomics, and molecular docking are some of the most important advances in natural product research that have made it possible to find bioactive molecules with a level of accuracy that has never been seen before.
To meet the needs of people around the world who need medical care, students are now learning about Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP), quality control, and the rules that govern herbal drugs. Through joint programmes with the biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, a skilled workforce is being trained to come up with new plant-based medicines. This development not only protects old ways of knowing, but also brings them up to date with new ways of finding drugs. This makes sure that nature's pharmacy stays an important part of modern medicine.
