Dr. Piyush Singh
Professor
Dr. Piyush Singh is a distinguished academician, researcher, and sports
physiotherapy professional with over 20 years of
experience, including 19 years of dedicated service in physiotherapy education, research,
and academic leadership. He is
currently serving as Professor & Associate Dean, School of Physiotherapy, SGT University,
Gurugram. He has completed his
PhD in Physiotherapy from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and holds a Master’s
degree in Orthopaedics, Sports
& Manual Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia. His expertise spans sports
physiotherapy, rehabilitation
sciences, strength & conditioning, motor control research, and evidence-based clinical
education. At SGT University, he
has played a key role in academic governance, curriculum innovation, and program
development, including the
interdisciplinary programs such as B.Sc. Sports & Exercise Sciences and M.Sc. Strength &
Conditioning. He has also
contributed significantly to examination reforms, research collaborations, and experiential
learning initiatives.
Prior to joining SGT University, he served at the ISIC Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences,
New Delhi, where he held
multiple academic and administrative positions including Associate Professor & Officer
In-Charge Academics. Dr Piyush
has supervised more than 42 postgraduate dissertations and has extensive experience in
mentoring, curriculum
development, and clinical coordination with Sports Authority of India, Delhi Lawn Tennis
Association & DSA. He has
published extensively in reputed national and international journals, including Scopus and
Web of Science indexed
journals, with research interests focused on sports rehabilitation, injury prevention, motor
control, biomechanics, and
performance enhancement. He is also the recipient of an International Research Grant from
the International Headache
Society (UK) and holds a patent for an IoT-based device for diabetic neuropathy detection.
Dr Piyush has also served as
the Chief Physiotherapist for the Cricket Association of Bengal Ranji Trophy Team, providing
sports injury management,
rehabilitation, and performance support for elite cricketers.
