Dr. Saurabh Kumar is serving as Associate Professor and Head of the
Department of Neurology &
Cardiopulmonary
Physiotherapy at the School of Physiotherapy, SGT University. He holds an MPT in Neurology
and a PhD in Physiotherapy
(Neurology), with more than 14 years of experience in academics and clinical practice. He
completed his undergraduate
studies at West Bengal University of Health Sciences and pursued his postgraduate degree in
Neuro-Physiotherapy from
Punjabi University. He later earned his PhD from SGT University, reflecting his dedication
to academic and professional
excellence.
Dr. Kumar has consistently focused on advancing his expertise through specialized
certifications, including Basic
Management of Cerebral Palsy and Applied Manual Physiotherapy. His professional journey
highlights a strong commitment
to teaching, research, and clinical innovation.
As an active academician, he has organized numerous workshops, seminars, and academic
programs while mentoring
undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students in research and project work. He has
successfully supervised
several master’s dissertations, contributing significantly to the development of future
physiotherapy professionals.
Dr. Kumar has authored 52 research publications in reputed national and international
journals, including journals
indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. In addition, he has actively participated in and
presented scientific papers at
various national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops. His contributions
to the profession have earned
him five national and international awards.
One of his notable achievements includes the development and copyright of a protocol for the
Physiotherapeutic
Management of Lumbar Spinal Stenosis, demonstrating his dedication to evidence-based
clinical practice and innovation in
neuro-rehabilitation.
