The Ramanujan Research Centre
The Centre aims to serve as a hub for high-quality research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advanced training in mathematics, Bhartiya Ganit including Vedic Mathematics & its industrial applications and other related fields. It will bring together researchers, scholars, and students from across India and abroad to explore mathematical ideas rooted in Ramanujan’s work and to expand these ideas into contemporary scientific applications. The Centre will also promote mathematical awareness and encourage young students including school children to pursue careers in mathematical sciences at the National and International Level.
In an era defined by algorithms, data, and artificial intelligence, mathematical knowledge has become imperative and indispensable—not imposed upon learners, but experienced as an integral part of our intellectual heritage. The Ramanujan Research Centre at SGT University is envisioned as a living tribute to Srinivasa Ramanujan and the age-old tradition of Bhartiya Ganit, creating a rigorous and vibrant academic ecosystem where research, teaching, problem solving and outreach converge. It seeks to nurture original mathematical thinking while reconnecting learners and researchers with traditions that gave the world profound ideas, including the development of zero, infinite series, and combinatorial thinking. Engaging with original sources rather than rhetoric or inherited assumptions, the Centre invites students, teachers, mathematicians, historians, and researchers from India and across the world to associate with it—exploring the infinite landscape of mathematics, for the legacy is not merely to be remembered; it is a foundation from which the future can be created.
