The Department of Civil Engineering at Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University has been in operation since the School of Engineering and Technology was established in 2010. The Civil Department focuses on the sectors of design, surveying, and construction, producing technically skilled engineers. Civil engineers from SGT University make significant contributions to the planning and execution of civil engineering projects in India.

The department uses cutting-edge teaching techniques and has state-of-the-art research and laboratory facilities to keep up with the most recent developments. Through educational and industrial visits to active civil projects of national significance, faculty members offer students on-site training in the civil sector. On the firm foundation of research and teaching, the department’s faculty continues to provide students with the most recent technical information.

The field of Civil Engineering is evolving rapidly with the integration of sustainable infrastructure, smart technologies, and digital innovation. At the Department of Civil Engineering, School of Engineering & Technology, SGT University, we are committed to nurturing future-ready engineers through academic excellence, research, innovation, and experiential learning. Our Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs emphasize emerging domains such as Smart Infrastructure, Sustainable Construction, Artificial Intelligence in Civil Engineering, Geospatial Technologies, Transportation Systems, and Advanced Construction Materials. The Department is further strengthened by its Centre of Excellence in Advanced Construction Materials, established in collaboration with UltraTech Cement, which provides students and researchers with hands-on exposure to advanced construction practices, material testing, and industry-oriented research. As a Doctorate of IIT Roorkee and a Postdoctoral Fellow from Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand, I believe that innovation, ethical leadership, and strong industry collaboration are essential for shaping competent civil engineers.
