The Department of Civil Engineering at Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University has been in operation since the School of Engineering and Technology was established in 2010. The Civil Department focuses on the sectors of design, surveying, and construction, producing technically skilled engineers. Civil engineers from SGT University make significant contributions to the planning and execution of civil engineering projects in India.

At the Department of Civil Engineering, School of Engineering & Technology, SGT University, we are committed to preparing students for this evolving future through academic excellence, research-oriented learning, and practical industry exposure. The department focuses on strong technical foundations, innovation, and real-world problem- solving through modern laboratories, advanced technologies, and industry-integrated teaching practices. With experienced faculty from IITs, NITs, and other reputed institutions, along with active M.Tech. and PhD research programs, we foster a vibrant environment for learning and innovation. Our Centre of Excellence with UltraTech Cement Ltd. is one of our recent initiatives to strengthen industry collaboration and provide exposure to modern construction practices and sustainable infrastructure solutions. The department has also established MoUs with several organisations, including OctoDo Solutions, Creative Design Consultants & Engineers Pvt. Ltd., Geo Solutions India, and Surveying India, to enhance students' skill development, research exposure, internships, and industry-oriented learning opportunities.
