Dr. Shobhit Maheshwari is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at SGT University, Gurugram, since May 2023. He holds a Ph.D. in Water Resources Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, where his research focused on discharge indices and sediment transport modeling using magnitude-frequency analysis. He also holds an M.Tech in Environmental Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra and a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. Dr. Maheshwari has previously worked as an Assistant Professor at RIMT University, Punjab. He has been actively involved in various academic and administrative responsibilities, including coordination of major student research events such as ANVESHAN, Shodh Shikhar, and Synergy. He has guided 1 Ph.D. scholar (ongoing) and 5 M.Tech students (2 ongoing, 3 completed). His research interests span hydrological and statistical modeling, flood-driven sediment transport, land use/cover change, climate change impact assessment, and solid waste management. He has demonstrated strong expertise in modeling tools like SWAT, VIC, QGIS, R, MATLAB, and has organized multiple workshops and training programs. Dr. Maheshwari has published extensively in high-impact international journals (Q1 and Q2 journals) such as Journal of Hydrology, International Journal of River Basin Management and ISH Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, with several of his recent works accepted or under review in reputed journals. He has actively contributed to national and international conferences and seminars and has secured participation success for students at various research conventions. He is also contributing to ongoing and proposed research projects on environmental monitoring, including noise pollution in NCR and public health impacts of lead toxicity.
