Centre of Excellence in Al Organized Hands-on Workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) in Healthcare: Concepts, Tools, and Applications”
The Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CoE-AI), in association with Research and Development Cell, SGT University, successfully conducted a two-day Hands-on Workshop on “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Healthcare: Concepts, Tools and Applications” on 13th–14th February 2026.
The workshop was supported under the Human Resource Development (HRD) program of the Department of Health Research (DHR), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, reflecting a shared commitment toward strengthening research capacity and advancing technology-enabled healthcare solutions.
The event commenced with a special online address by Dr. A. Stephen, Scientist-C, Division of HRD, DHR, who delivered an insightful talk on “Research Capacity Strengthening under the DHR Program.” His address emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary research, national healthcare priorities, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence in translational health research.
The workshop featured distinguished speakers from academia and industry, including Dr. Waqar M. Naqvi, Dr. Neeraj Gugnani, Prof. (Dr.) Praveen Bist, Dr. Deepak Prashar, Mr. Adeen Shukla and Mr. Anmol Talwar
Across two days of intensive academic engagement, participants gained exposure to foundational concepts, advanced analytical methodologies, real-world healthcare case studies, and practical demonstrations of AI/ML tools for medical data analysis, predictive modeling, and intelligent decision support systems.
The workshop witnessed active participation from faculty members, researchers, postgraduate and undergraduate students, fostering a collaborative learning environment aligned with national priorities in digital health and research innovation.
Through this initiative, CoE-AI continues to advance its mission of promoting interdisciplinary excellence, strengthening research ecosystems, and enabling transformative applications of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare.
